Nehalem Bay Winery began in 1974 when Patrick McCoy took over an old creamery so he could tap into the blossoming Oregon wine-making industry. His blackberry wine was, and still is, a favorite.

Ray Shackelford met McCoy in the nineties and later bought the business. Over the years, he renovated the building, but enhanced its old country charm. It now includes a venue for concerts, weddings and the “Theatre Au Vin”, blending performing arts and wine under one roof.

Today, this historic winery has wine tastings in a room with stone floors and weathered brick walls. They offer White Riesling, Bay Blush (White Riesling /Pinot Noir blend), Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Marechal Foch, Merlot, Cranperé (White Riesling with cranberry), Valley Peach Riesling, Plum, Niagara, Blackberry, Honey Mead, Nehalem Red Sweet, Rhubarb, Pear and Sparkling Wines.

They are on Highway 53 one mile off Highway 101 on the Northern Oregon Coast. Enjoy views of the Coast Range and one of the highest points and an outstanding landmark; Onion Peak.
